Cowtown Girls Gone Wild

Honestly, HearSay — as filthy-minded as the rest of y’all — just doesn’t “get” the Girls Gone Wild phenomenon. I mean, what’s so “wild” about attractive young ladies — who may or may not be professional models but are nevertheless presented as “amateurs” — revealing their breasts and doing body-shots off one another in front of a handheld camera? That shit happens all the time at the Torch (except instead of video recorders hovering all around, picture-phones are omnipresent). Still, once that big Girls Gone Wild bus rolls up in front of Axis on Thurs., I cannot say with any certainty that I won’t be there. There’s just something about witnessing in person what normally occurs on tv that brings out the rubber-necker in moi. And, c’mon — what kind of hipster-doofus ever tires of being regaled by topless women? They’re like Led Zeppelin songs! Too much is never really enough. The one sticking point of the event — a night that also features performances from two up-and-coming national acts, Copper and Revelation Theory — is that the cover is an unconscionable $15. For that amount of money, you could get a bona fide case of Keystone Light (none of that 18-pack crap), a big, warm thank-you from recent tsunami victims, or a lap-dance from a professional employee in the skin trade. See you at Axis.
